Comparison of powder yield between special and high-speed spray dryers for Chinese herbal extracts

The special spray dryer for ZPG traditional Chinese medicine extract is a special spray dryer. When the liquid material (filtered liquid material) is fed into a high-speed rotating centrifugal atomization disc, it is stretched into a thin film on the rotating surface by the centrifugal force of the rotary disc and continuously moves towards the edge, causing the material to stick to the wall and resulting in a low powder collection rate.

When leaving the edge, it is already atomized, and the atomized droplets (with greatly increased surface area) exchange heat with hot air, quickly completing the drying process within 10-30 seconds. If the material stays on the wall for a long time, it will cause coking and deterioration of the material, which is difficult to clean and does not meet GMP requirements.

To sum up, it will lead to low output. For example, LPG-150 spray dryer can only handle 50-60kg/h liquid feed. The ZPG traditional Chinese medicine extract special dryer adopts a fully enclosed form, with all components made of stainless steel and equipped with a three-stage purification device. The filtered air meets the requirement of 100000 level. Simplified Chinese and top are equipped with cold wall devices, which make the tower wall temperature lower than the gas temperature inside the tower by about 10 ℃. The material stays on the wall without coking or deterioration, greatly increasing the powder collection rate and avoiding wall sticking.

In view of the above situation, our factory has designed a new type of spray dryer for Chinese herbal extracts according to the material properties and process requirements of Chinese herbal extracts. The dried materials have good color and do not deteriorate, greatly improving the economic benefits of the drying equipment manufacturers.
